Work-from-home Environment

Walkingspree has adopted a telecommuting work arrangement that allows you to work from home.  We measure your results, not the hours you work.

We offer a competitive base salary and performance-based variable pay that could increase your monthly salary by 20% to 30%.  We also provide a robust health insurance package, matching 401(k) plan, paid 10 days of holidays, and 12 days of vacation per annum.

Chief technology officer

Join an exciting and established firm that is ready to seize the growing marketplace in the expanding wellness industry.  Furthermore, you will lead the technology solution for Walkingspree to connect with strategic partners, providers, and insurers to serve the digital health space. Walkingspree is currently self-funded and currently seeking growth funding to accelerate the growth.

  

About Us: 

We are a B2B SaaS company operating in the United States focused on corporate wellness.  Our mission statement is to encourage people to live an active and healthy lifestyle. We serve over 100 corporate clients, including multinational firms. We translate our app into seven languages. We offer a robust program including a true mobile app and a desktop portal that seamlessly integrates with fitness trackers. Our platform automatically logs members' steps and awards badges and/or points for incentives while participating in fun, company-wide wellness challenges. We boast an app rating of 4.6 with over 5,000 ratings and an NPS score of 72. In addition to a robust physical activity platform, we offer a modern wellbeing platform. Overall, we are a proven ROI program with multiple case studies on healthcare claim savings and significant improvement to our clients’ corporate culture.  

 

Responsibilities:  

We are seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a SaaS technology background to contribute to and share in the growth of Walkingspree. As the CTO, you are responsible for the strategic and tactical planning, execution, and management of all Walkingspree IT initiatives that are key to the Company’s growth and success. We will rely on you to provide the leadership and management necessary to develop and execute on its IT roadmap in a fast-paced environment.  

Your duties include: 

 

  • Develop, review, and maintain product roadmap with CEO and leadership team. Serve as a key contributor to the strategic direction of Walkingspree. You can translate between technical and non-technical people in regards to roadmap, projects, and managing bugs. 

  • Ensure the Walkingspree mobile app and web applications remain engaging to our member community and competitive in the marketplace by suggesting innovative solutions.  

  • Manage an offshore software development team who is dedicated to Walkingspree. You are responsible to lead this team, guide their workload, evaluate performance, and expand team as required.  

  • Oversee data security of member and client data. Ensure Walkingspree is compliant with HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and all other regulatory requirements within the healthcare industry.  Manage internal and external processes to ensure the company data is secure.  Manage quarterly penetration testing.  

  • Excellent project manager.  Schedule projects and report on the progress of IT initiatives.  

  • Apply your technical management skills through the development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively. Ensure your team follows the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases. 

  • Understands different programming languages and ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.  Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures, and various compatibility requirements. 

  • Understands both existing and emerging technologies.  Recommend appropriate technology stack and capacity platforms for future needs.   

  • Available to answer high-level technology questions during key sales presentations and provide technical responses to RFPs. 

  • Deliver a custom and seamless solution to partners and private clients that wish to incorporate Walkingspree to that client’s wellness solution.  

  • Ability to integrate third-party content and service providers to expand the company’s products and services. 

  • Manage capacity of our SaaS product platform with flexibility to triple in size. 

  • Undertake periodic code audits to minimize technical debt. Identify and resolve code risks in preparing the company for a future M&A deal. 

 

Requirements: 

  • 5-7 years in senior technical project management; 10+ years in IT Software Development 

  • Progressive management experience in a high-tech startup /growth firm in a software/product development role.  Ideally, history of leading teams, including software engineers, designers, and contractors 

  • Proven track record of defining, developing and implementing effective product development plans. 

  • Experience in developing mobile apps and web applications.  Testing of mobile apps across devices and web applications with compatible browsers.  

  • Working knowledge of programming languages (PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, JSON, RESTful, MySQL, SWIFT, Objective C, Android languages) and ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.  

  • Able to work with Apple Watch and Android Wear SDKs to modify and enhance current company apps for such wearable devices.   

  • To work with 3rd party API connections and AWS hosting solutions.   

  • Intuitive understanding of user interface design and web/mobile user needs. 

  • Proven ability to effectively allocate resources, within budget, and time constraints. 

  • Demonstrate you are disciplined, motivated, and driven for results.
